The Heavy-Duty Series is the backbone of the Wickum Weld lineup and the product line that put us on the map with serious truckers. These are full Class 8 cab racks, built for semis hauling freight across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Every Heavy-Duty rack is welded from marine-grade aluminum for outstanding corrosion resistance and long service life, then built to order around the truck it's going on. The result is a rack that stands up to the punishment of long-haul work while giving you a solid platform for work lights, tire chain hangers, and the gear your route demands. The Three Piece Clamp mounting system keeps installation clean and the hold secure, and there's room to configure the rack around how you actually drive.

Standard vs. Extended Cab Coverage

Wickum Weld manufactures cab racks sized to fit a wide range of configurations, from standard day cabs to extended and sleeper setups.

Our Class 8 cab racks are built 65–68 inches tall and 70–96 inches wide, covering the full spread of common cab dimensions. The right height and width depend on your cab type, your visibility needs, and the load you're carrying:

Standard Coverage — A rack sized toward the lower end of the range suits day cabs and operators who want full-height coverage behind the cab with a clean, close fit.

Extended Coverage — Wider and taller builds suit sleeper cabs and heavier hauls, giving you more rack real estate for accessories and a broader barrier behind the cab. Window Cutouts are available in 27-inch width or the full width of the rack, keeping rearward visibility open without compromising the build. Droms & Storage Enclosures

For operators who need secure, on-truck storage, Wickum Weld builds Drom Units and aluminum storage enclosures that integrate cleanly with your Class 8 setup.

A Drom Unit gives you weather-resistant, welded aluminum storage for chains, straps, tools, and the gear that has to ride along but can't ride loose. Built from the same marine-grade aluminum as our cab racks, each Drom is manufactured to order and sized to your truck and your storage needs. Whether you need a single enclosure or a standalone Drom Unit, each one is manufactured as its own purpose-built system — no off-the-shelf compromises.
